MOTHER OF TRAINS

A mother figure, grunged and weathered over the decades of service, protects a train from getting hit by writers, hiding it in her arms. The train is portrayed as a puppy, still intact, thanks to her protection. The composition is completed with the local train station as a background. The figure´s body is constructed of the wavy metal sheets, typical for the Czech train stations as well as the technical details showed on the upper body part and the train barrier details for the head and arms. The broken blue light hints her determination. The „beware of the train“ sign on her forehead translates in an opposite sense than usual, asking not to damage the train.

Done in watercolors on A2 watercolor canvas stretched on 3mm hard pressed paper board.
